How Flight Technologies, Inc. collects, uses, and protects information across the Flight OS platform and its mobile apps.

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Flight Technologies, Inc. ("Flight," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Flight OS platform, including the Flight OS web application and our mobile apps for field teams (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.

Flight OS is an enterprise platform. Organizations use it to plan and manage field work, assign tasks to their field teams, and collect photos, measurements, and other field data. Accounts are created by each organization for its own staff. Most data is processed on behalf of that organization (our customer).

02

Information We Collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, organization, role, and the credentials you use to sign in.
  • Field data: photos, imagery, measurements, notes, and other information you capture or upload while completing your tasks, along with related job, task, and site details.
  • Location data: the location of your device while you use the mobile apps, as described in the Location section. Photos may also contain embedded location (EXIF/GPS) data.
  • Device and technical data: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, and push notification tokens used to send you notifications.
  • Diagnostics data: crash reports and error logs used to find and fix problems.

We do not use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

03

How We Use Information

  • Provide and operate the Services, including sign-in, jobs, tasks, and field data capture.
  • Upload your field data to your organization's workspace and link it to the right job, task, or site.
  • Show maps of your work area and the sites assigned to you.
  • Process uploaded data into results your organization uses, such as reports, maps, and models.
  • Send notifications about task assignments and work status.
  • Keep the Services secure, diagnose problems, and improve performance.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your field data or location for advertising or marketing.

04

Location

Our mobile apps ask for your permission before using your location, and use it only while the app is in use. Location is used to:

  • Record where photos, measurements, and other field data were captured, so your organization knows which site or asset they belong to;
  • Show your work area and assigned sites on maps; and
  • Show site conditions relevant to your work, such as weather or airspace status.

You can decline or turn off location access at any time in your device's Settings. The apps keep working without it, but some features may be limited and field data may be saved without a location.

05

Camera and Photos

Our mobile apps use your device's camera so you can capture photos for your assigned tasks. Where an app lets you choose existing photos to upload, it accesses only the photos you select. Photos are uploaded to your organization's workspace and are used only to complete that work.

06

AR and Depth Measurements

Some of our mobile apps use augmented reality (Apple ARKit) and the device's depth sensor (LiDAR) to take measurements, such as heights and distances. The camera and depth processing happen on your device, and only the results are uploaded to your organization's workspace: the measured values and a reference photo.

Depth and AR data is used only to produce these measurements. It is never used for marketing, advertising, or data mining, and it is never shared for those purposes. The on-device measurement software is provided by a third party, which does not receive your photos, measurements, or location.

07

Notifications

Our mobile apps can send you notifications about task assignments and work status. They ask for your permission first. Notifications are optional, and you can turn them off at any time in your device's Settings. The apps work without them.

08

Offline Use and Uploads

So that you can work without signal, our mobile apps may keep your field data on your device until it can be uploaded. Once data reaches your organization's workspace, it is removed from the upload queue on your device. Sign-in tokens are stored in your device's secure storage.

09

How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to run the Services:

  • Within your organization: your field data and job information are visible to authorized members of your organization, based on their roles.
  • Service providers acting on our behalf: cloud hosting and data storage, map services, push notification services, error monitoring, and data processing infrastructure.
  • Integrations your organization enables: third-party systems your organization connects to exchange data at its direction.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Flight, our users, or the public.

Every service provider we share data with is required by contract to protect it to the same standard described in this Privacy Policy, and to use it only to provide services to us.

10

Data Retention

We keep personal and field data for as long as your organization's account is active, or as needed to provide the Services. After that, we delete or anonymize it in line with our legal obligations and customer agreements. Your organization's administrator can request deletion of account or project data at any time.

11

Data Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and role-based permissions to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use industry-standard measures to protect your data.

12

Your Choices and Rights

  • You can turn off location, camera, and notification access at any time in your device's Settings.
  • You can sign out of the mobile apps at any time.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we usually process data on behalf of your organization, we may pass your request to that organization.
  • To exercise your rights, contact us at developer@theflight.ai. To request deletion of your account or data, see our Data Deletion.
13

Children's Privacy

The Services are for business use by professionals and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

14

International Data Transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

15

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, give notice within the Services.
